Bike to Work Day stuff

Yep, it's Thursday. I do it every day, and encourage you to give it a shot.

Plus, my graphic design students made posters, and I'm pretty proud of them. Here's a slideshow of the best ones.

thought it was May 21? I plan on being there whatever day it is. I too ride everyday so this is nothing new for me. However I am inviting others to try it out. Might make a little difference out there.

love the posters. gas mask? hilarious but pointed too. and Ride your Damn bike hits with punch.

May 21 here, too. May 16-21 is considered Bike to Work Week, and smack in the middle is the Ride of Silence. Good week.

It's quicker and easier for me to keep track of the days I don't ride, though; usually about 30-40 days sprinkled in from mid-December until about, say, Easter.

Now that we have a bike-activist mayor, we are looking at city recognition/participation of the day for the 2nd year in a row. Last year, it was Starbucks and bagels by City Hall, with a mayor's proclamation.

I biked to work today. does that help?

very nice posters! if they were real though - wouldn't they be advertising a date in the future? meaning: get ready for bike to work day next week. maybe even a countdown tear-off. meaning: 3 weeks left; 2 weeks left; 1 week left, then "don't forget tomorrow!"

Our Bike to Work day is this Friday the 21st. Any student that rides to school gets an extra 10 minutes for lunch. I live 40 miles away so I'm going to ride in from 7 miles. This is our first time doing this.
I love the posters and wish I had thought of putting some up. Maybe next year.

Nice! Your student's posters are varied and very well done. I ride everyday, too. But I have noticed more folks on the road this week. Sometimes all it takes is riding to work a few times to realize that it is easily done.

Our first annual Bike to School day. We had 4 kids ride in. It is unusual for anyone to ride a bike to school here. It raised a lot of talk and enthusiasm. I expect next year will be bigger.
