I actually turned around laughing....

....and went back the few hundred yards I had ridden past this to take the picture. It had stormed and rained quite heavily the previous night and this is what I spied as I pedaled by. The first thought that crossed my mind was..."Suburban Water Hazard!"

Not nearly as weird as the alligator lurking just underneath the grate.

Don't sit on the curb.

I know the feeling. When the owner of Jingles - the attack furball little dog comes after me on my commute - tries in vain to call him off. I have to out sprint him up a pretty steep hill and always get away. Usually laughing so hard by the time I get to the top of the hill I almost fall off the bike.

Huh - I don't get it. Is it the three things that can either be golf balls or eggs, the crap that looks like a dead rat or the fact that the grate is cleverly designed to snag your tire no matter which way you approach it.
