101 Degrees at ride start

It was 101 degrees last night in NC and we still a good group to show up and ride. Dedicated bunch. I'm sure am missing Colorado!

As usual we had one hammerhead in the group-but I just could not help myself!

Hammer heads on group rides at that temp are not a problem----They just ride alone.

Don't know what is going on this year on the temperature stakes. It is even getting warm over here. We have the same problem as The TDF had today- Wet tar coming to the surface of the road. That will soon slow you down.

Sometimes you are the hammer and sometimes you are the nail.

I believe the correct quote is "when all you have is a hammer everything looks like a nail"

And the song lyric "I'd rather be a hammer than a nail".

We have a small group ride this morning at 8:30 and the temps are down into the high 70's. BUT.......it is 92% humidity!!!!! The good news is we're doing a cookout at one of the rider's house afterwards.

7:00am and 74 with 67% humidity...think I'll get in some ride time before it heats up too much. I'll be darned if it doesn't get warm around this time every year! I think they call it summer or something. Still haven't seen any 100+ days yet, but they're coming.
