Err Quadratandem
On my ride today. Plus, there was another kid riding his bike as tail gunner behind this parade!!Attachment 158972 |
I'm getting worried now. One grandchild and another on the way.

Looks kinda like those long semi rigs that have to make the w-i-d-e turns. :)

If this was news to you, then you seriously need to read the travel books by Joe Kurmaskie, the "Metal Cowboy".
After taking his two of his boys from Washington (state) to Washington (DC) on a single touring bike, trail-a-bike and trailer a couple of years ago, last year he toured Canada on a rig similar to your photo, with his wife riding chase on her own touring bike. |
I travel the Trans Canada Highway through Northern Ontario and the praries all the time. This time of year, there are scads of bike tourists on the highway.
A couple of weeks ago, I passed a 4 rider bike. If there had been a pullout available in the next while, I would have pulled up and waited to snap their picture on the way by. Unfortunately, no such opportunity presented itself. |

I would shake that family's hands - very nice!

I have a question----
I see quite a few family groups out of Mum and Dad and at least two kids. The kids- if capable and able have their own bikes but the real young"uns" are on tag alongs or baby seats. So why is it that the baby seat or tag along is always set up on mums bike? Perhaps it is because mums bike is always the heavier and older of the two adult bikes and Dad does not wish to chance damaging his C.F. frame with the lightweight wheels and Dure Ace running gear:innocent: But locally we have a Mum that has 3 kids. Two in a trailer and one on a saddle on the top tube in front of Mum. |
This was two ladies on the tandems - a grandmother or perhaps two. No dad here. These ladies come from a neighborhood about 1-2 miles away to the trail.

as she says, "I trust me more than you". I respond "Well, I have many thousands of miles experience and you have...well, none, but that's good if it works for you."

However the next group ride we do together I insist you hook up the trailer and bring the dog. Maybe I can keep up.
You don't seem to have any trouble keeping up with me. :thumb: |
another quad
While we're discussing quad bikes, here's another I saw during a recent trip to Korea.
