The view from my saddle: July 28, 2010

It's been a spell since I've bored you all with any pictures so assuming that you've sufficiently recovered from the last batch, here's a few from today.....

I posted this picture of an old fire house that's been refurbished into a restaurant aptly named 'Hose Co. 22' last March.....

O.K., it looks nice enough, right?

Well, here it is today...

Yep, that's the bar just inside. I could almost taste the cold draft beer from across the street! Tomorrow I'm bringing money with me!!!!

Down along the river I had a special thrill....

I see plenty of Great Blue Heron around the area but it is very rare for me to get any where near this close. I was maybe 30 yards away from this one.

Here's a parting shot.

All right, all you turtles get on the left and I want the ducks on the right!!

That's all for now, but later when you least expect it....I'll be back with more.

Nice pics. Nothing like that around here, or at least where I ride.

Whoa. This one scared me, until I read the "last March" part. I thought you still had snow.

I always enjoy the pictures from your rides. You have some great places near you.

I love the picture of the turtles and ducks

We don't have visible turtles around here much, but we do have bull snakes. However, they don't follow instructions nearly as well as your turtles and ducks.

Thanks for posting.

The ducks and turtles crack me up every time I ride along there. Nearly every piece of wood has it's own allotment of ducks and turtles. As a kid, I use to swim off the two large round docks that now make up part of the bridge Lenny took the pictures from. At that time we believed the turtles were all the snapping type. Imagine if you will, 10 kids trying to climb the same steel ladder out of the water after someone yelled "Turtle".

Thanks scroca. The Tunnel Hill Trail was quite beautiful. Makes me want to head back that way during cooler, less humid months. :-)
