The true test of wisdom
I just spend about an hour shoveling out my shop. Not cleaning - just clearing out the junk. It occured to me that the test of a persons wisdom is the crap that they throw out vs. continue to store.
Anybody want a Cinelli 26.2 mm clamp handlebar complete with longish (quill) stem. One inch of course. They're real pretty.

I have a rule in that if I want to keep something- it goes in a box. Particularly those parts that will be usefull in the future. Then a year later the box gets stored away and this has always been in the loft in the garage. About a month ago I opened the loft door and could not get in the loft. Something has to be done and quick
Any one got any plans for loft extensions?

In the last year or two I've taken several boxes full of bike stuff as well as two bikes (a Target Schwinn and a Fuji Cruiser) to Freewheelin' Bikes, a non-profit that does good things for the community with bikes. https://www.freewheelinbikes.org/

My workshop is so cluttered and dirty that wifey refuses to enter. Of course, that's a good thing. I've thought about getting rid of some junk but, hey, I need that stuff.

My problem is that I don't even know what I've got in all those parts boxes and on all those shelves. Consequently, I keep buying stuff, only to find out I already had it.

I've also got two pairs of Welgo road pedals, new-in-the box, that I'd let go for an equal trade in bike stuff.

My wife has a rule about household items that I try to apply to bike stuff.
"If something hasn't been used (or missed) in two years it goes on craigslist, Freecycle Decatur, to charity, or in the trash."
