The view from my saddle; 08/04/2010

Though it was very hot and humid yesterday, I took the T.E. out for a leisurly 46 miles anyway.

You've all seen several pictures of the bike, the trails, and neighborhoods that I ride so I thought I'ld post some different pictures today. I tend to dwell on the colors and sights along my route and I want to share some of that beauty here today.

Here are three shots right from Mother Nature herself....

...and a few from front yard gardens along the way....

...not all bees fly into our helmets...

....and from farther down the road...

continued, next post.....

....we're not done yet...

Across the road from Cranberry Pond...

While out on the pond we have this bird practicing landing and taking off...

And he's up!!!

Not too bad considering these ponds are only about eight to ten feet deep!!

Here are two parting shots from Mother Natures garden again. I kinda think hers are the prettiest flowers out there.

O.K. So there's no pictures of bikes, no stats, no roads, trails or grand vistas...but these were all viewed from one leisurly bike ride. Yesterday was a winner.

Those are some pretty flowers, but the Purple Loosetrife in the last two pics is a Nasty, Awful, Non-Native Invasive Bad Guy Plant.

Oh no!!!

I'm always attracted to the pretty ones. I guess ignorance truely is bliss!

(I almost included a picture of a Dandelion, but I feared the uproar from the 'Lawn People'.)

Lenny,

You are really "flowering" as a cycling photographer - thanks for the great pics!

That picture of the bee and the flower having sex is X-rated.

Beautiful pictures, Cranky, really nice. Taking the pictures while on a bike ride keeps them on topic! Thank you for sharing.

'Sokay, Cranky...I love dandelions. If you don't believe it, just check out my yard (dandelion farm) in May.

Nice pics, BTW.

Yeah, but at least it's a native perennial (Rudbeckia Hirta, black-eyed susan), unlike that purple loosestrife. I think the second photo is flowering spurge, another native perennial.

I really appreciate the comments from the horticultural experts and enthusiasts. I'm a real illiterate when it comes to trees and flowers, a product of living in large cities most of my life, so this is a good way of broadening my mind, thanks.

Good shootin', Lenny. Photos of the flora were very nice. Also, I don't see that many sea planes any more. Good catch.
