Happy birthday to me!

Yesterday I turned 50. I don't feel any older, and actually feel great for my age:)

I can officially post here, though I've been reading here for a while.

I woke up to an awesome gift from my wife ... a Lynskey R230, with an Easton EA90SL fork.

I can't wait to start building this bike up ... hoping for a maiden voyage next spring.

Indeed, Happy Birthday to you and what an excellent present.
Wifes are great... Mine gave me a TREK S720 for my birthday.

Happy birthday and welcome aboard. I wish my wife had the intuition to buy me a MTB on my birthday.

I am a Clydesdale as well, at 235lbs. I ride handbuilt Mavic Open Pro wheels currently, and thinking of going the same route for the Lynskey. They're not a light-weight racing wheel, but I'm going for comfort on this new build, not speed.

The old aluminum Cannondale is killing my joints:o

And the steel Schwinn in showing it's age:(

Taking my time ... not 100% sure of all components yet. Plus, $$$$. I don't want to use entry level parts on this frame ... and Christmas is coming;)

Thanks for the replies ... now moving forward to the next half century mark. 40+ years of cycling has carried me this far.

9:AM sharp, I'll be there, Mr Fox.:D

At your age, maybe you should start looking into recumbent bikes.:twitchy:
