Did the earth move for you?
This is for the Hoosiers.I was in your state Thursday am. About the time the earthquake hit, I was in Brazil picking up a new trailer. I didn't notice any shaking there.
I headed east on I 70, and tuned in local radio, and it's all they were talking about.
Just wondering if anybody got their dishes rattled.

Nope. Nothing in my house in the southside of Indy. Slept right through The Quake of '10. Heard about it on the news.

I'm not from Indy but Cali, and we had a 6.5 in the beginning of 2010. I and others were pretty cocky on riding through numerous 7.0 and higher over the years, but not after this particular 6.5, being it was really shallow in depth. A lot of frayed nerves for several months following it.

I live about 12 miles from the center of our little earth quake. My wife and I both had the day off, and we were sleeping in late. About 7:55 or so, the bed started shaking... We thought at first it was our two cats jumping around on the bed, or maybe a train had collided with something down the street, but then I thought maybe that was an earthquake.
I turned on the emergency scanner, and they were all talking about the "Tremor" we just had. I don't remember the name of that little fault near us, but the news said it hasn't been active in over 175 years, and the quake was 3.8 and about 3 miles underground, what is just basically a corn field near Greentown IN. I've lived here my entire life, and never knew there was a fault line that near where we live.
No damage that I know of, just a bunch of people surprised that we had a small earthquake.
Personally I thought the little quake we had in 2008 was stronger, and it was centered clear down in Southern Illinois.

Richter 3.8? That doesn't even count as a quake where I live.

Ah, but folks in the Midwest and East get more mileage (literally) out of their quakes as the earth's crust there transmits seismic energy more efficiently. A 3.8 there can be felt over a much wider area than one of the same size in California (or almost anywhere in the western US).

Heard a rumbling, figured it was a.)another jackass with a subwoofer; or b.)the airport, as there are some serious rumbles that blanket the entire south side of Ft Wayne from time to time. Leaned on my windowsill to look out for traffic, and felt the sill vibrating. THAT doesn't happen, so I knew something was up. But I wasn't so concerned as to turn on the news to try to find anything out.
Heard about it on the noon news. Oh well.
(FTR: yup, sure could be a subwoofer -- there are jackass thugs in this town who can be heard a half-mile away, from INSIDE the house, doors closed.)

I felt it here, south of Cincinnati. That's 200km / 120 miles away, pretty impressive for a 3.8 quake. It was a slight swaying motion and some window rattling. It was about as strong as when trucks were running through a big pothole outside my house, but it was a different motion.
It's funny to see the reports on akohekohe's map link above. Some people reported intensities over 5 at 200 km. They really overreacted.
