Cool fact
Heard this tid-bit the other night from the T.V. weatherdude. During the 90 day period of December, January and February...we had 85 days of Snow cover (snow cover being defined as greater than one inch of snow on the ground).
No wonder I've been so darned cold!!
No matter, as Spring is rapdily approaching. Our 9* morning turned into a 20+* day and we are looking at the 30's for the weekend (with rain of course).
I'm back on 'The Beast' for both recreational use and commuting. Yay!!
Yep, Spring is getting closer.

Very cool fact Cranky, thanks for passing that along. We still have snow in the mountains, but of course we never get snow (well, almost never) here at sea level.

This morning when I woke up it was about 5 degrees cooler than yesterday. It was 64 degrees. Highs have been in the high 70's. Too soon the heat wave will be upon us regularly (the other day it was 86)

Bah.. I actually don't mind the cold weather and the snow. I love to x-country ski and I've been on ice skates since I was 4. One of these days I'd like to try speed skates. No winter is fun.
It's that space of 3 -4 weeks during the month of March that's a pain. Not good for skiing, no good for cycling because there's too much salt and salt dust on the road. I'm starting to think that I should buy a trainer for those crappy days in winter and that in-between time this month.

I am actually wanting to retire to a cold weather/snow state for those reasons. I was born n Brooklyn and was up there for the blizzard right after Christmas this winter, and absolutely had a blast playing in it, but I owuldn't want to have to commute and be forced to go out in it. While it's fun to show our weather forecast to the snowbound peeps, I absolutely get tired of the year round heat and humidity, and would like to live in a 4 season state (although not necessarily a state like Colorado where you can experience 4 seasons in one day

My sister lives in Hawaii and she always complains about the fact that a cold or sinus infection will stay with her for over a month instead of a couple of days.

Spring has sprung around here, I did a recovery ride yesterday and look at the temp. The TV said 79 but I didn't see that. https://connect.garmin.com/activity/71180883

I was hoping for a change over last week, but there is more snow in the forecast, and we usually get dumped on when the high school tournaments for basketball and hockey start up, so there's more snow in store. I just want it to end this year, and I can get out and ride rather than commute.

Another dump of rain, then freezing rain, then snow... it's all supposed to melt over the week... maybe the roads will be clear in two weeks ?

More like global cooling. It was supposed to be about 30F. It's 17F in Toronto right now.
