Anyone tried this?

With all the posts on weight I wondered if anyone had tried the Hog(HCG) Diet? Results?

Diets are often pretty problematic for weight loss. Most people take a draconian diet that loses weight pretty quickly. They get off of the diet and go right back to their bad habits and gain it all back and then some.

The thing is to eat a healthy and reasonable diet and exercise. It is about a life style change that you can maintain through time. It is not a quick fix.

Plenty of people eat a reasonable diet and exercise and are still obese. It doesn't take a large excess of calories, no matter the quality of food, to add weight over time. Caloric restriction, by whatever means, is the only way to lose weight. This means taking in less than your burn. The more you exercise the more you burn so you can eat more, but it still must be less than your metabolic requirements. There are tricks and gimmicks that may work for limited amount of time or weight loss, but systematic calorie counting is infallible and can be carried out indefinitely, adjusting to maintain weight once the desired healthy weight is reached.

It's widely agreed that 2 lbs per week, which equates to a weekly deficit of 7000 calories, is the fastest rate you should loose weight. There are many web based utilities and/or smartphone apps that will help with keeping track, but an old fashioned calorie book, scrap of paper, and a pencil is all that needed.

I concur with the rest of your post, but I think there are other factors here, including high fructose corn syrup and sugar-laden foods in general. Too many Americans are borderline diabetic, unable to metabolize carbohydrates properly.

Calorie restriction and exercise are essential, but so is elimination of junk food, particularly white flour, refined sugar, and excessive fats. Donuts (proper pronunciation should be "do not") and soft drinks are arguably the biggest culprits, but most of the average American diet is deadly.

The best way to lose weight is to count calories and change portion sizes.

Count calories. Get an online app or a phone app to help you.

It's easy, and staying within a daily calorie goal forces you to make healthier choices. You realize very quickly which foods are high calorie (usually junk food) and you avoid those foods.

It appears that no one here has tried this crazy and dangerous fad diet. GOOD!

Diets are dangerous. Health and fitness comes from total lifestyle over the entire life, not just a short term fad diet. This one is especially dangerous due to its' concentration camp calorie level and the drug involved.

Keep on keeping on.
