I do a workout something like this 2-3 times per week. Start with crunches, back extensions, planks, and bridges. Then pullups, dips, and pushups, followed by some more planks and bridges. Finish up with a second set of pullups, dips, and pushups. About 20-25 minutes from start to finish.

Drove out with two guys I work with to go xc skiing at 4 pm today. Split up after thirty minutes and climbed for some miles to a self service cabin where I chatted with a really nice 58 year old guy who knew this area like his back pocket. He set me up with a great route back to town. Wide groomed tracks for my skating and 7 miles of gently sloping downhills in the dark (I have a good headlight) was the highlight of this years skiing so far.

Since we're on the subject of skiing ..... Last week I skated four days and snowshoed two.
For some reason I don't miss cycling a whole lot
Skiing last week..... 27 days so far this season
In spring all that snow and ice will melt for some excellent kayaking

Another fairly easy 9 miler on the TM. Set at 8:35 pace and only sped up last quarter to 7:30 pace. Within 3 seconds of Tuesday run!

The wife and I hit LA Fitness gym this morning for a hour and a half workout. We did full body, but we were carrying some new equipment. We had 20 lb Weight Vests..
https://www.amazon.com/Altus-Athletic...9782771&sr=8-4
My wife had on 5 lb ankle weights, and I sported 10 lb ankle weights. The ankle weights were mainly for doing ab work, and my wife did leg lifts side to side too. The weighted vest allowed me to do squats holding a 45 lb plate, and I could squat all the way down and my back and knees were comfortable.
Still experimenting with these items.. Was a fun workout...

I pondered about some stuff in a very burdened way.
I also did 1/2 hour on the recumbent stationary bike at lunch time today.

Marathon to Hell 2012
On the TM for the annual spring exercise of stupidity!
Got on early and gave it hell! Started at the 8:20 pace and started cheating seconds here and there within each mile as I moved it down. Took 3 GU packs and 40 oz of Gatorade/water mix. Like most long runs the first half is almost boring if you did your homework and put in the necessary training. After about 15 miles you start the real work and at 20-21 you know you've got yourself into something that is going to hurt!
As I kept speeding up I kept getting closer and closer to the dreaded Hurt Locker! Last 4 .2 miles I was in the locker and the door was shut and locked! That hurt big time! Like always...said I'd never do it again!
Even though I know I could never equate the times to the road it was, nonetheless, an adventure! On the road or on the TM it is 3 1/2 hours of moving one foot in front of the other!
Got it done and now I need it to warm up a tad to get outside!

Hi,
I don't post a lot, but I just started running about 10weeks ago, and found I haven't ridden at all since January. This month, I have run 13 out of 26 days for a total of about 63 miles. I usually get up at 5 or so and run about 5.2 miles. Sometimes I only do 5k. I can't believe I'm actually doing this, I've never been athletic. I still feel like a cyclist, but this is a lot harder for me, so I find myself doing it more. I know top cyclists use a lot more total energy than most runners, but I'm mostly a 18 mph type cyclist, covering anywhere from 15 to 65 miles and the running is harder than that. Cycling really helped with my understanding how to breathe, and how to get in the zone. Sorry to go on like this, I read everyone's posts looking for their thoughts. Thanks.

Yesterday - walked the 2 miles to, and 2 miles back, to my folks house in the morning, and went to a 45 min spin class in the evening.

Calisthenic workout, then jogged a couple miles, then more cals before breakfast this morning.
