Chance to help w/ charity in north coastal San Diego County
The church to which my wife and I have belonged for 24 years, https://encinitaschurch.com ,
is holding an annual community service day in lieu of worship on Sunday 16 Oct.
I have volunteered to lead a project in which we collect, clean up, and repair bicycles for the local Community Resource Center. If anyone plans to be in the north coastal San Diego county area that day and wants to help out in my ad hoc "bike kitchen," please advise. I can bring a pretty full set of tools, a shop stand, and a truing stand, and I am hoping one of the many local bike shops will want to be involved, as well. The CRC has specifically requested children's bikes as Christmas gifts for needy families, but I am extending the project to include transportation bikes for low-income adults, as well.
If anyone in the area wants to donate a bicycle, tools, or parts to the cause, we are going to be accumulating everything starting later this month, so please contact me.
