I'm not doing it this year, but I did last year and it was a zillion kinds of wonderful. I did a Blurb book about it. Don't try to read it on line, but the photos look pretty good in full screen mode.

I got out the magnifying glass and managed to read a little of your book. It looks as if the route is exactly the same this year. It was your post several months ago that clued me in on this ride and I know the area enough that I did not think twice before signing up. Friends of mine from Montana tell me that the descent from Grasshopper Pass is great fun. From your pics and the extended weather report from Bozeman I am reminded to take warm clothing... which is good since I hate heat. (Have equipped my bike with nearly the lowest gears known to man since I am genetically ill-suited for speedy climbing.)

FYI, I will be blogging and posting pics along the way at: http://dongreersbicyclingblog.blogspot.com/

I'm doing the ride this year, BD. We talked briefly about this on the forum a few months ago. I leave Washington on Friday, driving to Bozeman, where I plan to arrive on Saturday. Stopping in Missoula for a bit just 'cause I like Missoula. My bike is in the shop for its tune-up and will be ready tomorrow. I'm picking up a few last things to be all set for the trip and the ride. Went out last weekend and rode a hundred miles to see if the legs were ready, and they're feeling pretty good.

It will be great to see you there. I don't have a 50+ jersey, so you won't spot me by that. Actually I've bought a couple but they just don't fit. So watch for the guy with the big moustache wearing either a solid white Pearl Izumi jersey, a red Jolly Roger jersey, or a yellow Lucky Labrador Brewery jersey. Oh, and I ride a black and red Specialized Roubaix.

Cheers!

Hey that's great... I'm glad you are still going. I'm heading out from here on Friday, arriving Bozeman NLT mid-day Sunday. I will have my 50+ jersey on for the Sunday afternoon meeting and dinner. I'm staying Sunday night at the recommended motel. Since the ride did not sell out it looks like it will not be hard to find each other in a large crowd. If you are interested, I've mapped out the first three days on Mapmyride.
