A nice chuckle today
On a previous ride Gyro had pointed out a Segway tour group that he's been noticing on the Charlotte portion of the Genesee River Trail. They look like fun.
Today as I was entering the River Trail I noticed the Segway tour resting in the shade over on the grass. They were at the lake Avenue entrance to the trail or in other words, up at the top of the 1 1/4 mile climb up from the river bank. Apparently riding a Segway uphill is tiring?
Any way, as I peacefully coasted by on my Volae Tour I called out in a jesting manner "My, those look kind of strange!" The entire group of about ten riders looked over my way and one, the girl on the far end, realized the irony of my remark and broke out in laughter. One out of ten isn't too bad I guess.
For those reading this that are unfamiliar with the Volae Tour.....here we are from last year....

It's a touristy type of thing. I've seen them along the lakeshore in Milwaukee and I think there are some in the Chicago Loop.
Someone invests in a bunch of money into purchasing some Segways and the necessary permits and sets up shop. For a price, one gets an opportunity to learn and ride a Segway and go on a little sight seeing tour. It kinda looks like it might be fun.

Cycle Year Round
Running in the park the other day, had Japanese tourist in a Segway tour group start riding on the wrong side of the path strait at me, as the tour operator started chastising them in Japanese.
