Welcome to the Beast and rider. I've contemplated the utility bikes but just haven't jumped yet. Good luck with the Beast. It was high on my list when I considered Utes.

Some of the local riders did a "cargo ride" on Sunday on their Big Dummies and other cargo bikes. Sounds like fun, but if I went, I'd be riding along for "support" on my 16-pounder

I have a beast- but not the same as yours, Been called that ever since the damn thing bit me on a training ride in 2002. 6 stiches in the calf and the pilot had a wrenched shoulder. Yep it's a Tandem- an offroad beastie and weighs in at 55lbs in ride trim.

Funny thing is that on the few occasions I have ridden it solo for a few miles- it did not feel too bad. Slow uphills- even slower than normal- but it still handled and still went downhills.

Welcome aboard. I am new to the 50+ boards myself. As far as the bike goes, as long as it keeps you pedaling then its all good.

Cheers,

Brian J.
