    Hey, all you vets!

From me and mine to you and yours: Thanks!

For your service, and your sacrifice. And making it possible to go ride what, where, when, with whom and how I want.

And for you "furin" vets- to you too, for doing the same for your folks.

    Thanks again,
    The whole family.

Being a "furin" vet can be taken more than one way.
Was born in Europe and survived Hitler's onslaught and starvation and emigrated to the US in 1947.
Volunteered for the US Air Force in 1952 and served in Korea in '52/'53.
Government gave me the run-around about becoming a US citizen . . . took 'em 3 long years before I got my citizen papers.
Thought I owed more than lip service to the US.
With all its problems, it's still the best country!

Thank you very much, Dell. That's a very nice thing for you to say. I only wish other American citizens appreciated the freedoms and liberties we all inherited from our ancestors in the USA. It's been a great country and hopefully, will be once again.

Next day, the day after Veteran's Day: Things sure have changed. I remember back in the late 1960s when I was in the Air Force, during the Viet Nam years. Thanks to the Jane Fonda enlightened liberal-types, American military had to avoid wearing their military uniforms off base, even in the USA, as we would be at least spit upon, or possibly attacked by gangs. As so many 'good' lads went to Canada to avoid the draft, our reward for our patriotism and serving our country was scorn. Like I said, things certainly have changed. I wonder how long until they change yet again...

My service was purely peace time and right after Vietnam and its upheaval in the military. I want to say thank you to every man and woman, U.S., Canada, U.K. and other allied nations for service in the face of danger. I lost my best friend in Vietnam and had many, many friend in school and our largely military neighborhood. My best wishes to all veterans and their families for all the sacrifices they made for all of us.

    Regards,
    Bill
