Not much longer..
.. until my granddaughter can ride in a carrier. I test fitted her helmet last night and it's oh so close. I think the next couple of months will be like waiting for that proverbial pot of water come up to boil.
Fingers tapping... Brad |
I had the same problem with my GD but before I got round to sorting the bike-The child seats I already have- My grand son was born. So we now have a 1 year old and a nearly 3 year old in a trailer. That trailer can fit on 3 different bikes but the weather has broken now so looks like spring before the Family outings can commence.
Had the GD on the child seat on an old bike that was hard work to pedal on its own- without the GD sitting in it and yelling "Faster Grumpy". Have now found an old 3 speed Girls bike for my daughter to use. Just have to make certain she can pedal it with a trailer and 2 kids in it. |
I miss those days. All my grand kids are grown and 6 of them have had kids. The bad part about it is, none of them are within a thousand miles of me.

My daughter is pregnant with our first grandchild. Last weekend her husband bought a child's bike at a garage sale. They have a good while to wait.

stapfam, Ah, this gets even better! I learned this AM that it looks like my younger daughter's (Army wife) family will return earlier than expected. :D
Because each of my daughters have, at this time, a 20 month old and a 6 month old I think I'll wait on mounting the child carrier and buy a trailer, then pick up another carrier and when the two younger cousins are old enough to fit a helmet they'll move into the trailer. The thought of attaching a hitch, axle and two wheels onto a canoe flashed through my mind. ;) Brad |

My oldest grandson is 9 and almost tall enough to put on the back of the tandem especially if I get a kid stoker kit

How old does a child need to be to go in a trailer? Then at what age do they progress to the kick bike or the tag-along....
All you folks with grand children, we just had our first .... child, and yes I am 50+..... |
