I heard about this on the radio this morning. Looks like an awesome adventure, but somehow I don't think I'll ever talk my wife into doing it with me.

You just need to appeal to her sense of adventure. You know the one she had when she married you.

>>>riders of all skill levels, retired couples, university students and professors, doctors and nurses, IT professionals, diabetics, a blind person, and a double amputee. If they can do it, so can you.<<<

The way he described the road surfaces he rode on much of the way, I was thinking a Surly Pugsly would be the only suitable ride.

Exactly. But there were other challenges, such as non existent roads, roads made of lava rock where the road surface would shred tires. I might be a bit adventurous, but I don't think I'm up to that level any more.

Not to mention the occasional animal attacks while riding through their back yard. 11,600 plus kilometers ... that's one hell of a lot of riding.

I'd do it in a heartbeat.
But ... 120 days? Doesn't quite fit into my employer's vacation schedule
