Its Minnesota in the Arizona desert today.

Its Minnesota in the Arizona desert today. Yesterday was cool and rainy but today is COLD and rainy. It feels like zero with the wind, eer breeze. Just so you all in the frigid areas know that its not always warm down here.

Its all relative. I have an ex-riding buddy who used to ride with me down to 20 degrees and then he moved to Santa Barbara, CA and now won't get on his bike if the temp is below 60

I think we will be lucky to have a high of 50 with rain today. I commute to work with 10* F and 20 MPH winds. There are cyclists here that think that is a mild day. Call a waaaaambulance and get on your bike and RIDE!

High here in S. Mich might get to 40F. Everything is wet from melting snow. This is the part of spring and fall that I hate; why can't it just get cold and stay that way instead of hanging just above or below freezing for a month at a time?

it was funny last week, because Texas was having a record cold wave just as we were having unseasonably warm weather here in Pennsylvania. Unfortunately, that meant we got the cold this week

This is what we have/will have up here, I think Flagstaff got buried.

I got out between storms and had a rather nice ride.

Here comes another one.

I tried to do my team's group ride, but somehow thought it was at 7:30 instead of 7:00, got there at 7:10, and the very few that braved the weather were gone. So I did the Rio Verde Loop route solo (https://www.trainingpeaks.com/sw/GBAG...UOQHBABG7PZ7R4), adding an out and back into McDowell Mountain park, where a couple of friends are (still!) doing the "Dawn to Dusk" mountain bike race as a duo. Couldn't find them, so continued on my way and went up 9 mile hill. As I was leaving the park, though, I noticed the temp was dropping dramatically. High 30's or low 40's at that point. The rain held off until I was headed down Pima. Another guy pulled up at a light, and we traded pulls in the building rain. Turns out he is planning to do the same ride I'll be doing tomorrow (Scottsdale JCC), which covers the same loop. Lots of valley rides do Rio Verde, mostly for "9 mile".

It was definitely cold by my standards, and a little wet, but I'm glad I decided not to wuss out. It was a nice 58 miles of "base+". Tomorrow should be drier.

For us cold is under 40F. While it may start out about 40 it hardly ever stays that cold and by the time I get back from a morning ride it is about 60. I have lived where it has been colder, wetter, and has more snow but my thought is we have the freedom to move in the US so I take that freedom to heart. When I got to the point where I could retire I looked into places I would like to live and one prime consideration was weather. I looked at places like Goldylocks would. My family in Montana, Washington, Arazona, (Flagstaff) and even Northern California understand not to expect a visit until spring or summer. But to be fair I was born in the OC and so I have never been a big believer in extream weather.

Liquid sunshine (rain) here in Tucson, AZ the past few days and very high winds.
However, although predicting rain today (Saturday) it was sunny/windy this morning and in the 40s.
Ventured out on my single bike, dressed appropriately and did some climbing with a tailwind! Nice!
Atually got quite warm 'til I turned around and headed home.
Got in a very nice 21 miles. Raining hard in P.M. and temps dropped into the 30s with possible snow as low as 4,000 ft.
Gonna kwitmybellyachin . . . used to ride in MI at 20 degrees.
Have a good weekend and pedal on!

Our little cold spell in West Texas isn't over yet. I'll be doing the morning part of my commutes in the high teens - low 20s early next week, then we'll be back to our normal 30 to 35. So, expect more warm days in Pennsylvania!

It's 9 degrees in Flagstaff now, we're tied with Bismarck N.D. (will see who gets colder tonight). 7" of snow on my deck outside and more coming, other parts of town have a lot more. I had a great MTB trail ride along the rim of Walnut Canyon yesterday when the snow wasn't so deep, but now the streets are solid ice. I need studs!

I have had my studs on for a few weeks. Had a teaser with snow then it warmed up. But we will be paying for the mild fall later. Within the next two weeks. I talked to Mom in Phoenix yesterday morning and gave her a hard time about thinking it was cold at Phoenix. But 35 plus years as a desert rat makes her feel the cold.

I did the same Rio Verde loop today with a JCC cycling club that lets us atheists ride with them. It stayed dry, but was colder than yesterday, and windy. Nice ride though, as was the coffee stop at the end.
