1000 miles
I know many of you bike much farther, but today my computer informed me that I had logged 1000 miles while commuting and shopping since May. I feel proud.

Somebody is sure to add a posting that they have done 16,000 miles since May. I think 1000 is pretty darned good, especially on a "Walmart beater" (what is that?).

Congratulations. I'll bet you are more fit then ever. If you don't look at it any other way you have saved 67 gallons of gas at 15mpg and $134 at $2.00 a gallon.
My coworkers were amazed at my accumulated savings over 6 years of commuting.
A side effect of my commuting is severe reduction of annual mileage on the car. I used to drive about 12,000 miles a year. My annual commute is about 2,500 miles. I now only put about 4,000 miles on the car. Where did the 5,500 miles go to?

Congrats! I'll end up with about 2200- a high for me. The goal I met this year was doing my first full century. Next year's goal - 2500 miles - not a major push but 3000 might be tough.

I've got 955 on my odometer since 8/6. For me, there are 4/5 more commuting days left in the year and a 17 mile RT. Barring any nasty weather, I'll be able to join the 1000 mi club! A full year should be 2500+. Woo Hoo! Congrats Jessica!

assuming you averaged 12 mph that means you spent 83.33 hours on the bike. if you pedaled at an average cadence of 70, that means you would have turned over your cranks almost 350,000 times!! i'm being very conservative with those assumptions, but i'm sure that's in the ballpark. congrats!

old thread, new mileage: 2800 miles on odometers: more than 25 miles a week for three years. Closer to 50 miles a week nowadays, and looking to increase.
