    Urban snowmobile

Winter days in Chicago are moderate. Some snow, some cold, some ice, some sun, some wind.

Today was some snow, mild near-freezing temps, slight breeze.

I took one look at that and put my slippers on to go get another cup of hot coffee.

How cruel. I have put your bike in the same class as those dogs that take their owners out in the foulest weather just to show how fit they are.

I just hope you gave enough exercise to the bike without causing yourself too much harm.

    And mine was a Cognac.

Most bikes, like most dogs and some people, can withstand a little damp chill. Practicality & moderation is my winter philosophy.

Wow, that looks cold!!! I got a chill just looking at it. Glad I live in the Arizona desert even though its been raining mostly for a week and more for this afternoon. The weather man must have been a transplant from Washington-:0)

Thanks for sharing. I love that first shot looking towards Oak Street Beach ... It's a pretty view regardless of the weather.

It dawned on me as I was looking at your first photo that I would really, really, really HATE to have a flat in those conditions.

I bring an extra pair of gloves in case one pair become wet for any reason.

I had a quick release fail on a winter ride last year. I threw the bike on a city bus and was home in no time. I also had a rear shifter cable freeze, turning the bike into a two speed. No flats during winter so far, but good tires help.

In the 6 years that I commuted year round I never had a flat in the winter. I think cold rubber is more resistent to punctures.

I think you are right about that JBS. And nice snowmobile Barrett.
