My 1989 Cinelli SC and 1990 Bottecchia
Hello everyone. Just joined the forum. I have been riding road bikes since my college days at UC Davis. My first was a Schwinn Varsity which I rode to class. But my current pride and joy are my 1989 Cinelli SC with Campy C Record and my 1990 Bottecchia with Campy Chorus Syncro. Bought both new. Each ridden on one century before putting them away. Currently I ride a blue Vitus 979 with Campy Chorus Syncro.

Lbear12,
Welcome to Bf and the 50+ gang. those are some nice bicycles you have there. You should also look into the Classic and Vintage (C&V) forum for more bicycles like yours and older. Several very knowledgeable members for Campagnolo everything there as well as Italian steel. Enjoy your stay here and post up often, we love pictures of everything Bicycle here.

Here's one that I didn't have long - just sold it this weekend to a fellow who will use it for commuting. But it was a real eye-catcher!

Sweet. Is that the shifter behind the seat clamp? What size are the wheels? This hot rod should be posted in the Alt bike forum.
My only red bike at the present:
Shimano "Coasting" automatic three speed. Found at the local Performance Bike shop on super discount. I just had to have it for the uniqueness of the auto shift system.

This badboy has not been ridden in awhile, but just received new wheels, saddle, and stem. Different bars are on the way. It's going to be used this summer for sure. The candyapple paint really pops in the sun.

1977 Schwinn LeTour II. Bought this a few weeks ago for nostaglic reasons (I had on back then!). Took it apart for a thorough cleaning and relube, and the original magenta-colored paint was starting to flake off in areas, so I had it powdercoated 'lipstick red' (the frame is in great shape, with no dents, dings, or interior rust that I could see). Changed a few other things on it that were worn out and its a fun ride that I'll gladly put in the rotation. And it'll be my back-up commuter, too.

I am glad someone started this thread.
When I bought Capo #1, it had a dull red aftermarket paint job. After seeing a Montana gent's Capo w/ its original candy apple red paint job w/ white head tube, I decided to have mine painted similarly, to show off the great lugwork. When I walked into CyclArt I saw an Italian bike which had just been painted in a deep metallic, "almost candy," red, and I fell in love w/ the color, which fortunately is a CyclArt standard.

Wow!
The only thing I dislike is the standard 52-49/14-16-18-23-26 gearing, because of the big hole in the midrange. (Nothing a 6-speed 14-16-18-20-23-26 freewheel could not fix handily. )
