I woke to that very same visitor yesterday, just a couple inches. It was mostly gone by the afternoon.

Very pretty. We had a long hail storm Tuesday evening. There were some patches still on the ground the next morning, and a thick layer frozen on the car. In past years we had frost in March, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed for the plants that think it's already spring!

Nice to get a bit of snow for a change...but I'm not complaining about the uncharacteristically great riding weather we've had so far this winter here in New England...even if it marks the beginning of the end of life as we know it due to global warming...or something...

Yen, what altitude are you at? I assume something above 3000'. Understand the Grapevine was closed for a bit and I'm sure there was snow in the Tehachapi's. We're having a cold spell up north, but very little precipitation (and no snow at 260' elevation). Snow looks nice on postcards, but I don't miss East Coast weather.

I skied at Wachusett today. I had not skied in so long it felt like my first day back after Summer. Though I flailed around, it was great to again see the winter snow-scape with the fir boughs bowed over with snow. Snow makes everything look pretty.

And that's why we live in CA. NJ, NE, CA winters are brutal -- and I don't miss shoveling snow at all.

Miss K, that pic is very pretty.

At least what you got looks pretty. Here in CT it's just a miserable icy rain/sleet.

We haven't had any significant snow this winter and I'm hoping we can get through March and April with the same! I haven't missed the snow

This is the reason why I live in Florida. This has been one of the mildest winters we have had in many years; almost as if summer never left. We have not had more than two or three consecutive days where we needed anything heavier than a sweatshirt. I don't think we have had that happen more than four or five times this winter season. Weatherman says we are going to have a temperature drop on Sunday down to 71º. It's been in the mid 80's for a couple of weeks now. After being stationed in Wyoming for two winters and having taken winter survival training in Greenland, I can honestly say that I don't miss that white stuff, even if it is beautiful after it falls.

We had two snows early on(before the north got snow). Since then it's been mild. Great year to have gotten a mountain bike . Love the NORMAL CYCLICAL WEATHER CHANGES.

Why, thank you, Red Rider. I'll pass that along to Miss Jean!
Here in the blueberry capital, we have had almost no snow all season. However, it never fails that we enter March, start dusting off our flip-flops, and then get hit with a snowpocalypse.

Would have preferred snowstorms today instead of the tornadoes that hit southern Indiana.

Those storms have been just awful. My in-laws have a house in Branson MO. They were lucky, there were just few roof shingles blown off.

Re: snow picture
My some what snarky tone aside, I actually love winter. I like the freezing cold days and the snow. (When people say they hate the cold weather, I like to say There is no such thing as bad weather, just poor choices in clothing. Then they roll their eyes at me.) It's just that winter should follow the established schedule and not just show up at the last minute, smiling weakly and saying "Well, better late then never, right?" I was seriously thinking about planting some radishes & peas.

What a storm front that was. Worst 2 days for tornadoes I can remember for the U.S. It finally cooled off here, all the jokes about 75+ days aside, it feels much better. The humidity Friday and Saturday was really high and so muggy. Back to 45F nights and 65F days here. Might see some in the high 30's too. More like winter now and better off for it.

Wasn't too bad down here. (west suburban boston) The snow depth ranged quite a bit though, depending on where you were. On a few inches in my area, to eight inches or more along
the MA / NH border towns. Hey, after last winter, we deserve a break.
