Cycling book recommendation
 

Just finished this readable and enjoyable book. The wife saw it at the library and took it out for me. Anyone who has built or even selected components for a bike might enjoy the book. Here is an Amazon link. http://www.amazon.com/Its-All-About-...2267025&sr=1-1

The only complaint is sometime jumping a bit off topic on to what usually turned out to be great and somewhat arcane history of the bicycle.

There's also an entertaining BBC documentary based on this book. I watched it on YouTube. Don't know if DVDs are available in the US.

The most entertaining cycling book I've ever read was Joe Parkin's Dog in a Hat. Close second is Bob Roll's Bobke II. Bikesnob's book was OK. "Bicycle Love" just plain sucked, I thought. Everything else I've read has been technical in nature, meaning they always invoke MEGO.

I liked Joel Friel's Cycling after 50. Gave me lots of hope and good ideas. Gotta check out the BBC documentary. Sounds interesting.

Liked Dog in a Hat as well. The sequel was ok, but not as good. The Lost Cyclist was also good.
