A ride to Durand Eastman Park...(pics)

The weather turned nice for a spell and I had the opportunity to get in a nice ride. The flowering trees and early Spring flowers are in bloom along the Lake Ontario shores so I included Durand Eastman Park in the ride. I opted not to write about the history of this venerable old Rochester park and just post some pictures.

I entered the park from the old Wisner Rd. entrance which has been closed to cars for years. This entrance put me very close to the Magnolias and Daffodils that I was hoping to catch in bloom.

I was very fortunate.

Now on to the Daffodil plantings which are scattered over several acres in this fruiticetum.

I failed at capturing an image that portrays the vast expanse of the daffodil plantings. There are acres of them. It appears that deer don't particularly like to eat them either.

A "Picture perfect day".

The ride ended up being just shy of 50 miles but the best part was the park.

Used to play golf there from time to time in my youth, but haven't seen it in 35 years. Beautiful shots!

Very Nice pictures Lenny. Those flowering magnolias and daffodils look beautiful. Our Magnolias are really coming out to bloom the last 2 weeks and their perfume is really nice, especially with the ligustrum also flowering.
