At what altitude do you live?

This ought to be interesting. I'm at a whopping 410 feet.

The Antelope Valley is in what's called "the High Desert", as opposed to Palm Springs area which is called "the Low Desert", (being right at sea level). The house is right at 2,500' msl - not enough to affect riding nor give an advantage when riding at lower elevations. The hills around here are about 2-3 thousand feet higher, some more - some less.

~450' now but lived out West for many years at 5000+ feet. Recently went back after a number of years a did a bunch of riding at 5000 to 12000' and was surprised it didn't affect me more than it did.
