I fixed it again...

... my Salsa Casseroll, that is. With it's geared components switched over to the monstercross bike, I dug out the SS/fixed gear parts from storage and reassembled it in it's original configuration. This bike is too sweet not to have a place in the lineup.

I took it out for a quick 8 mile ride around the block and it rode nicely. This being my first fixed gear ride in a couple of years, I had a few rude reminders not to try to coast. But the main impression was "Hey, who put all these hills on my flat route?"

Beautiful bike. I have a friend who spec'd one out with high-end componantry and it is one hot bike.

FGs are a bit like sadomasochism: it doesn't make sense to me but I don't judge those who like it.

Nice! Very beautiful bike. What are you running? Looks like a 44x18 from here.

Sorry Dudel, but there is no S&M in riding a fixie. They're just plain fun, and they give you a great workout. For everyone? certainly not.
But, mine works for me.

48x16 and it feels pretty steep for where I ride, at least for now. I think I'll see if I can find a 20.

Ah, nice to see the Casseroll out and rolling again. I've been wondering what your plans were for her.

Sounds pretty steep to me. I have a 42/16 on my Paddy Wagon, and can just about struggle up some of the local hills. Nice looking bike, btw.
