It's raining on my parade!

Today is my 70th birthday and several of my friends were going to ride the appropriate miles with me and we get a tropical storm? Maybe tomorrow?

Well, congrats on turning 70 and maybe the storm will be kind. I know you guys really need the rain down there, so take it as a birthday present and best of luck out there tomorrow. Are you and your friends planning to ride the 70 miles? If so, congratulations again, and I hope to be able to do the same thing in a few years. I take riding the bike as a gift, and I'm not ever sure how long I will be able to continue. Keep at it!

I didn't start riding til 4 years ago and thanks to cycling I feel better now than I did 10 years ago. Riding 70 miles will put me close to 700 miles for the month and while I appreciate the rain I was hoping it would wait til afternoon

I would have thought that at your age you would have organised things better. Fancy having a birthday on a rainy day.

Still there's always tomorrow.

Happy birthday by the way.

Congrats on turning 70.
Go ahead and ride. It looks like the rain is north of you.

Congrats on the 70th birthday and hope Beryl skips off to the Northeast as predicted. When you do ride we expect a belated report of the ride and your pie of choice, you know!

Congrats on your 70th!

There are a lot of us 50-somethings who can only hope we can to that kind of ride at 70 years of age. Keep it up!

Got out to ride after the storm passed over about 9am. Remembered why we don't wait til 9 to ride in South Florida. Rode out into fierce headwinds and temperatures quickly hit the 90's. Decided to try again tomorrow got in 33 miles this morning, we'll go for 70 tomorrow and see if we can get it in before the temps hit triple digits

Got it done! 70.1 miles today thanks to some good friends who pulled up the hills and into the wind. Temps hit triple digits by the time we got home but it was a great ride, a great day with people I enjoy being around. 70 yrs old is good so far!

You should have ridden in the rain. Just think what a memorable birthday it would have been to have ridden in hurricane.

And with the wind in the right direction- It could have been a fast ride.

Well done.
