Whats the most you have ever paid for a beer?

Was reading the cranky beer thread and it got me to thinking about designer beers and what they cost. Paid 28 bucks for two Stella drafts at a hotel in Vegas, before tip.

The most I've ever paid for a beer was 85 cents. I drank it, I hated it and I never had another. Tried a cigarette once too.

$120, drove into town to get a beer and a hot sandwich, got pulled over for doing +20 (he let me off light cause I was doing more like +30).

Didn't--A Pint over here is around £3. Any pub that charges me more gets to put it back in the pump.

$20 for a bottle of domestic and a rum and coke at some Vegas Casino.

LesterOfPuppets 06-02-12 01:43 PM

I bought a $20 22oz fancy beer that was probably the most I've spent in a grocery.
A $7 16oz draught was the most expensive normal beer on tap.
I've spent $8 for a 9 oz Lambic on tap, however.

NEVER pay for a drink in Vegas unless it's one of those cheep 40oz Daquiris on Freemont or a cheep beer in a divey casino. I guess I did buy some Pina Coladas @ Treasure Island. But they were $10 and you got to keep the glass.

If you're at a nicer casino you're probably better off playing for a bit 'til a waitress comes around, so you get comped drinks.

$45 for a bottle of Samuel Adams Utopias.

bruce19 06-02-12 01:47 PM

Can't recall but I think it was an Inis and Gunn.

Did you drink it or shelve it?

Oh, we drank it. It was part of a beer and bourbon pairing we were doing. It was paired with Booker's and complimented it quite well. It needed to be paired with something that has a bit of heat to it. I think it would also go well with Wild Turkey Rare Breed, but that was not one of the pairings that night.

Went out for a beer and ended up with a wife!

Still paying for that beer and I don't even remember what brand it was.

Did that once. That beer cost me 40 bucks.

This reminds me that I forgot to drink my daily beer yesterday because it was fresh from the grocery store at room temperature. (In some remote places, that would be a plus.)
A Dundee Ales and Lagers variety 12-pack at a bit less than $1 per bottle.

That's a lot of dimes. Just play one line at a time and pace yourself ;)

mprelaw 06-02-12 05:29 PM

I think I paid $9 or so for a draft at a hockey game this past winter. At least the girl pouring it was nice enough to let the foam settle, and then top the cup off.

moppeddler 06-02-12 06:49 PM

Beers are $8.50 at StL Cardinal games. 16 oz though! Thank you, sir, may I have another?!

A similar story for me. In 1976 I was working on a survey crew, outside all day in 100+ degree temperatures. We stopped for something to drink after work and all this place had was beer. I don't remember what it cost -- maybe a $1, at most. I've never had another.

Never tried a cigarette. Tried a cup of coffee in 1977. Haven't had the urge to try another since.

DnvrFox 06-03-12 07:46 AM

$0.00

Never had one.

Are you a teetotaler or do you just have wine or harder spirits?

I don't recall the most I have ever paid. It's likely only a few bucks. I may have zero, one, or two drinks in a year and have been this way for about 20 years--ever since I developed T2 diabetes.

fietsbob 06-03-12 11:42 AM

do I include travel expenses to Prague and back? via NL and Belgium.

You pay for beer? Ya just don't know the right people..either make friends with someone who works at a beer distributor or just raid your friends fridge.

etw 06-03-12 06:19 PM

There have been times that I have paid a big price the next morning!

ZmanKC 06-03-12 07:45 PM
