    Happy Birthday NuttyGrandma

    NuttyGrandma,
Hope you had a great birthday (or the anniversary of your 29th birthday) and got to ride to your heart's content. What type of PIE did you have?

Happy birthday NuttyGrandma. I haven’t been on this forum long (joined in May) and I could not figure out what people were talking about when they talked about Pie. If Pie is doing a ride where you go a mile for each year of your age then I will never do Pie. I am 68 and that would be 68 miles for me and that’s not going to happen in my lifetime. If I am wrong about what Pie is then someone please correct me. The only way I could do that would be to do part of it one day and the rest the next day and I don’t think that would count.

When my dad turn 39 every year after that when ask how old he was, he would said 39. He stayed 39 for 45 years. If I used my dad’s kind of math then I might could do pie.

Pie is the reward for a ride well ridden, whether long, short, quick or slow. And pie can be cake. Or whatever.

Pie is a reward for ANY decent ride or a consolation for a bad one. Take it you are a new rider but you may get a shock in a years time with the milage you can do after starting riding. Just get used to Pie and the rides afterwards to work off the weight gain and you could be there.

And NuttyGrandma-- Happy birthday and what Pie today?

People who ride a lot can feel less guilty about eating guilty-pleasure food - like pie. I can't eat pie (diabetes) but I enjoy my food during or after a ride (and don't feel guilty.)

Riding a mile for each year of your life is called riding your age. It gets harder each year (duh!) I haven't done it since September, but should be doing it soon as I'm heading out on tour next week.

    Happy birthday!
