I just picked this up on 6/26.
It's a 2012 Fiat 500c.

I actually like the new iteration of the venerable 500 Fiat. I'd love to spring for an Abarth model just to drive an Italian hot rod, blood red of course, like yours. Tell us about the first drive and the choice of automotive PIE for a first drive experience. You need to post up in the N+1 thread as your new red Italian ride!

I had a Fiat when I was a teenager, thing got 50mpg, was a blast to drive but broke down constantly. I am sure they have improved the reliability.

Heard the Fix It Again Tony over the years and knew several people that had problems with Fiats. I also had friends with Bravas and their sports car that loved them, had little or no problems. Our dealer is still here, one of my wife's clients, just without Fiat to sell. The local Dodge/Chrysler dealer has the 500 but I don't care for their way of doing business. The Brava with the 2 litre motor was a BMW 320 killer that no one expected to do anything. With the right dealer here I'd consider a 500 now.

Fortunately I found it at our local bargain hunter store (Essex). Was returned by someone to Amazon and they sold it to Essex. How do I know? There was a letter in the box from the previous owner. Pretty funny. They made up some reason to send it back most likely because they couldn't figure out how to use it. I got it for $120.
I can post the letter(with name blocked out) if anyone is interested in the stuff they make up to send things back instead of just saying "it didn't fit".

In about 1960 my dad bought a Fiat 500 "Bianchina". Talk about tiny! It had two cylinders rated at 17hp, seated two with a vestigial back seat, suicide doors, and a fabric roof section that could be folded back (the only way to get headroom if you were seated in back). This was a bad choice to own in Cincinnati, which has some seriously long, steep hills. With an extra passenger in back, I swore a couple timea that someone would have to get out of it if we were going to make it to the top!

I never got to drive it, but his next car was an improvement: a 1957 VW convertible that I learned to drive in -- a real speedster compared to the Fiat.
