Houston, we have new Re-Entry Vehicles!

Long story short, the wife and I ended up with different bike choices due to warehouse issues......she wanted a Specialized Vita and ended up with a Specialized Ariel Limited, I wanted a Scott Metrix 40 and ended up with a Felt Verza Path 2 (I'll try to post pics tomorrow). Both original warehouses confirmed availability on the original selections, only to notify the LBS next day that existing stock was gone (Specialized offered us the slightly more expensive Ariel at no additional cost to keep our business!). No problem, after further consideration and test riding, I think the bikes we ended up with will fit our local riding opportunities better than the original selections......:thumb:.... The hybrid suspension feels really good on both bikes, and will help tame our rough blacktop country roads better than non-suspension frames (as will the Gel seat on my Felt!). We have some smooth off-road riding paths that will give us a work out, too, in addition to other all-paved surfaces. Inagural rides are tomorrow, too much going on today to do more than get 'em home........

Good deal for y'all. Ride them well, post the pics from your maiden voyage and a ride report as well as your choice of Pie. You should put some pics in the N+! for 2012 thread here too. We love to oooh and ahhh over new bikes.

They look like good bikes for the type of riding you want to do. Good manufacturers- good specs and it looks like you have an LBS that has sussed your needs for what you want to do.

Now begins the problem--Saddle time is what you need but in a few days your butt will not be saying that. You will discover a few items to add to the bikes like Pumps- and a basic toolkit like a multi-tool and puncture repair kits to put in a small "Wedge" under the saddle. Then there is the cafe. You are going to have to find that. Just far enough away to say that it is worth riding to and it has to have a selection of Pie to keep you going back.

Good choice on the bikes and welcome to the fold.
