Velonews link to Robert Marchand sets new 100-kilometer speed record.

The guy's just incredible. Average speed of 23 kph (14.3 mph). I love his jersey. Wish they were available for purchase.

“I feel like a guy who is a hundred years old, I feel good. I’m an ordinary guy,”

I love his quote because sometimes us older folks appear to be scared of being our age, we feel the need to tell people how young we feel or look. It is nice to see a guy do what he did at his age and be humble about it and be ok with being his age.

At 112 lbs. I bet he's quite a climber. Maybe he'll go on to set some age-group(!) records for mountain passes.

In tears on that one, very funny.

70% chance of rain here tomorrow. After reading about Marchand I'm going to ride anyway God willing. That is just brilliant.

Hi, he is my hero too. I've always said I wanted to live to be 100 and Monsieur Marchand keeps giving goals for when I get there.
