First group ride to go over....

20 mph average. 20.26 for 18 miles. Slight hills. Some pace line. But our group has worked ourselves from about a 15mph average at the beginning of last year up to 20. A couple 50+, some 40+ and two teenage girls!! Shamelessly pats self on back...

Excellent - it gives you a huge kick to break that barrier, doesn't it!

We all know that the "average speed" thing is supposed to be meaningless - but a boost like this goes a long way, IMO.

Next challenge:

See if you can average 20mph over a 20 mile (or more) distance, riding completely solo.

Yup, that is tough one for sure. I think I could do 10 miles but 20....no way right now.

Congratulations with the successful bike ride. It is nice to improve the fitness and the performance. It is even better to share the whole thing with a whole group of friends. Congratulations to all of you.

Congrats on that.
I know when I did a solo 10 mile flat course in under 29 minutes it was a good feeling. Still trying to get that 20 mile deal down below 60 min. I need that to be flat. At 790' it's a little more hilly than I like when trying to go fast. Currently stuck at 63
