Nice day for a walk
70 degrees, sunshine and my left side pedal snaps off 8.5 miles from home. Yes, it was a nice day for a walk.

Was a bit luckier than you . . .
Riding my single bike while spouse did her grocery shopping. Front wheel behaved oddly; checked it and the hub needed adjusting. Fortunately within a couple miles of bike shop. Mechanic adjusted it in a few minutes and said 'no charge.' Continued on my ride and on downhill 'KABOOM' as rear tire exploded. About a 4 inch gash in tire. Certainly not fixable. Stuck out my thumb and within 2 minutes a truck pulled up and gives me a lift to where I needed to go. A mix of luck, but mostly good. All's well that ends well! |
Was the sky a little "blue" about you two?

Reminds me of the day I went for a seven mile walk on the Jordan Parkway Trail, when I flatted on an old Schwinn the one day I forgot the pump.
|
Reminds me of the time by frame cracked about 3 miles from home. It was a nice walk, but carrying a bicycle.

Walking is all I can do now that I am in Ecuador and without a bike, but its not so bad, waking is good for a person too.

NOS88, what type of pedal was it? What was the circumstance when it broke; were you pedaling while in or out of the saddle?
Zonatandem, what tire type and what pressure were you running at the time of your rear tire blowout? |
