Another good one, but already on my playlist. The Eagles version is really good too.

Thank you gentlemen, firstly for brightening up my day, and also reminding me that I haven't played any Jackson Browne for far too long now.

Situation now resolved.

Appreciate the Jackson Browne link for the start to my day. My CD of "Jackson Browne" is probably my most played disc, good memories from the early 70's for me, listening to Doctor My Eyes, Rock Me on the Water, Jamaica Say You Will and the other tracks eases things for me. Running On Empty still gets a lot of play from me. Good music from a good person.

Wel I guess being 6 months short of 50, I'd be the younger dude around here. So this song is one I've always like but figure it might have been after some of your "times" a far as music. It was featured in the movie "Fast Times at Ridgemont High"

A few other Browne greats (even the youngsters here can remember these):

And this one...especially good this time of the year.

Enjoy!

The Load Out/Stay is a great ballad that still is as relevant today as it was then.

I've been a huge Jackson Browne fan since his first LP (he and Bruce Cockburn are probably my favorite musicians), though I admit to losing a bit of interest during his more politic period. Not that I have a problem with it, just that I thought it had a negative effect on the quality of his songwriting (unlike Cockburn, who is a master at it). Browne's strength, his incredible strength, has always been in the description of interpersonal relationships. The last few albums have been a return to form for him, I think.

I couldn't even begin to list favorite songs, but my favorite version of "Sky Blue and Black" is the one on his "Solo Acoustic" albums.

Haven't listened to him in quite a while but I think his moodiness in his early songs had a lot to do with his girlfriend (wife?) committing suicide a long time ago.

It was his wife, and I'm not sure which was the cause and which the effect.

His wife that committed suicide was Phyllis Major, she killed herself with an overdose in I think, March of 1976, they had gotten married, after living together for many years, in 1975. I remember when it happened and I thought it was so harsh and hard on him and the young son they had together. This was 3 months before we got married so it made me think about how abrupt life could change for the worst. His music had had mentions and influences form this several times. So sad.
