Back on My Bike Despite Broken Arm (Video)
Yes, my surgeon wants me to wait at least another month before I ride on the road. It was such a beautiful day, though, that I had to pedal my bike. It was a short ride - I didn't even make it around the block.

Love it! When I broke my little toe, my Dr. told me I would not be able to jog for 6-8 weeks (before I ever got into biking). I looked at him and said "challenge accepted" 
I was back on the track a week later. Who needs a little toe anyway?

Icyclist: you are doing the right thing--although it is not the time to fall (as if there is a good time!)
My surgeon who fixed my hip told me the sooner you get back on the bike the sooner you will heal after insertion of a Zickel Nail:

You need blood circulation to promote healing, so a week after the surgery was on a wind trainer and still had the staples!
(I did wait a month to ride on the road!)
Although sweating in a cast is no fun, because afterward you need a coat hanger to relieve the itch under the cast!

Don't listen to your doc, listen to your body.
My body always says--The hell with the injury, get out there and ride!
And as for your not making it around the block, I believe I have located the problem. Some sort of tubular mechanical excressence has attached itself to your back wheel.
Good luck with your recovery, and don't do anything (too) foolish.

Next, I see in the future, his stationary bike trainer in the bed of a pickup truck, going down the freeway while he pedals away! Nothing could go wrong with that, right?
