Martin Ashton. Trials rider from way back and if you remember Hans Rey- then this was the rider that was chasing him in the world ratings- till he finally overtook him. Very nice fellow and still has the skills and he has a road show over here with some of the up and coming young bike wreckers that are beginning to stop breaking bikes. Saw his show locally a few years ago at a Sports fest on the beach and the things Martin can do on a bike are unbelievable.
Seen this vid before and I know it is Martin- I know it is a road bike and should not be doing this sort of thing but it just seems wrong. Fancy riding a skinny tyred bike over that golf course at the end. Golfers will now hate cyclists.

Yes, that is truly incredible.
I wish he would post on our current "Falling Off" thread (we could offer him an honorary membership!) because I suspect he would have some VERY interesting stories to tell...
The stuff he was doing was extremely risky -- but at his almost super human level of skill -- maybe it wasn't all that risky?

How weird to see this here today...!
Was at my LBS today, and expressed concern that going to a Carbon Fiber Road Frame may not work well because I am at 250 lbs right now. They walked me over to a computer and showed me this video....OK...carbon is tougher than I realized!

Thee vid shows all the spectacular jumps and aerobatics that worked.
I wondr how many incidents occurred and how how many wheels were replaced.
And don't buy the "Demo" bike that may appear in your local store.

Anyway, Martin Ashton "outtakes"

It's almost as incredible as the original video: just one puncture and one scratch...

Just practicing what he does would shorten my lifespan...
... But he got through it with one puncture, one scratch and bent lever...
It's almost like he has a different kind of brain than I do... It's simply beyond my comprehension that anybody could do that.
