It occurred to me recently that the gov't can really struggle with what they want from me. When I turned 18 they sent me an invitation to a party and now that I'm about to turn 65 they've sent me a little red, white, and blue card letting me know that I'm no longer needed.

After 3 weeks, the Colnago is nearly finished. Awaiting new sewups, shifters, hoods, cables, decals and a final tuneup.

The first ride was last Friday evening on unglued, prestretching sewups. I just couldnt wait. Man, this thing glides like no other bike I have had the joy of riding. Stiff, responsive and....FAST. Decal kit and era (proper date stamp) Nuovo Record rear derailleur is in the mail and should be here by the weekend. This is been a fun project, a real labor of love.

I was hoping that Suntour RD(?) was going to be replaced. Must be optical illusion with the right side of handlebars being bent in. Need frontal photos along with full side view when done. Glad you're bringing it back to life.

UNGLUED!!!!!! WOW, you be a animal....

The Campy NR will be in place by the weekend. Decals, maybe. No more pics until it's finished. It's been a fun and exciting restoration.

I think there might be a slight bend but really what you can see is a bent brake lever on that right side. The owner was an agressive young rider. He set a state Jr's record in '78 when it was last used full-time.

I just stumbled in here, saw this... man, that's a cool bike. 42/52 and 14/18 gearing? Manly stuff there in any case. Very neat that it's so original. I'd have had a hard time letting go of that if it were mine, too. The geometry looks like what Trek copied for my TX 700, lol.

Very twitchy if you arent used to it. My other bike is a Cdale criterium. Thanx, it really is a sweety with racing heritage.

Now I wonder why the heck that is. The wheel base is positively long by modern race bike standards and the angles look anything but radical. Maybe just what you are used to. I thought my Siena was _extremely_ nervous when I first got it, but now it feels just like home.

The Super is 99.5cm at 58cm framesize. I raised the question of headtube angle in the C&V forum and didnt get a good answer. My Cannondale Criterium Series is 97.5 at 54cm and 74% HT, steering on that bike is intuitive, with a mere thought it will change lines, amazing bike.

Very proper looking.

I took the NR rear off my '83 Paramount years ago and replaced with a DA. Replaced the Campy DT shift levers with Simplex OGS 11 levers, THE BEST DT levers ever made. Between the two changes, the shifting is unbelievably crisp and easy AND much better than the Campy. Enjoy!

Still looking for full-on photos.

Now I have to google those levers.

Decals are in the mail. Pics will follow. Almost finished with this. It's been a fun project.

Done for now. There are a few things I'll do later but for now I want to ride it. It is a very difficult bike to stay off of.

This youngster has been doing his best to keep my resolution to bike 65 miles every time I'm out on the Giant since my 65th birthday last month. Except for one day where I had to cut it short for an appointment, I have managed to stick to it.

Keeping the rubber side down has been an issue that I am working on.
