Had a great ride with my buddy Steve. We rode down to the Mississippi River and back on a wonderfully amazing autumn afternoon here in Western Wisconsin. I took a few shots of the autumn splendor with my phone.

Caught this on my "crappy" commute to work.

I love the details. Rather than jimmy up a hand, they used a McD's bag, and added an open bun with a pickle on it for effect.

Bwaahahaaaa. Happy Halloween, everyone!

Harvest is almost over. This hill was a great wind block for the few minutes I was behind it.

This is not the day but finally this afternoon it got finished. Has taken about 18 months to do this at weekends and measures 30x40 ft and is sunk 3 ft into wet sticky heavy clay.

Final bit was this weekend and the seating finally done. Gone for the Rustic look and once the wood has dried out- or got wet to the same degree- and sanded- then it will not look as irregular. Still the Table to make to match the seating but that May have to wait till next year. I have to get back to cycling.

It was my pleasure and honor to take the much coveted "Lantern Rouge" in the Mike Nosco charity ride this weekend. These are the "Boney Mountains."

The strange things you see at the home of the Yankee Siege pumpkin chunker.
If you have time and a large scrap metal yard you can make something like this too.

Just came back from the business trip to Hartford... some of my photos - I was fascinated by renovations on the Travelers Ins. tower and took several views:

Found this awesome hike/bike trail along the Columbus River

The next night found an old church and cemetery - I LOVE CEMETERIES!

First winter storm of the season went through last nigh. Thankfully, we were spared, the big stuff was a couple hundred miles west and we received a dusting.
Makes for some nice scenery

But also some precarious riding

[h=5]The sky was gray; there were low-lying clouds and it was 37°. However, there was a break from the rain, so I was off for a ride. Just before I reached my planned turn-around point, the sun partially burned through the haze and produced the opportunity for this picture.[/h]

Whoa. Nice pix. Just a thought ... but I'll bet that would really rock in BW. Like this ... I applied filtering and some dodging to bring out the foreground, and cropped out the blown highlights at the top. Moody!
