Wore my new Uvex helmet on today's ride

I used to think my Lazer helmets were comfortable, but wow.
I'll give the Laser an 8.5 to 9.0 tops.
The Uvex get an easy 9.8.

Ron,
could you post some pictures of the Uvex when you get a chance? I'd like to see how they look after hearing about them here.

There are a ton of different Uvex helmets. Which one do you have?

I've been researching Uvex online for a while and decided to go for it, even though there's no place around here to see it or try it on.
I used my REI dividend and picked up a 2012 model (looks just like the 2013 model). The REI ad says 2011 overstock but the sticker inside the one I received had a manufacture date of April 2012.

Here's the link to REI if you're interested. http://www.rei.com/product/853462/uv...2011-overstock

I wanted one with a removable visor because we're now in sunny FL and the UV index for yesterday's ride was 9. I've found that many roadies (except the very young ones) ride with a visor or racing cap under their helmet. One more thing to help keep the direct rays off part of my face.

Here are some quick iPhone pics.

Notice the nice pads and bug net.

Nice easy to turn adjustment at the back.

Ratcheting closure on chin strap.

Quick, easy push button release on chin strap.

Bug net as viewed from the top/front.

Nice big ventilation holes.

Side shot with visor removed.
