Anyone from Lewes, Delaware?
I'm going to be in Lewes, Delaware this Sunday-Monday night and would like to do a 25-30 mile road ride while there on Monday. Any recommendations that would be scenic and away from traffic?

Tons of great riding here. Take the main drag out of town and cross Rt 1. Then you have plenty of back roads you can go for miles and never see a car. Nice and flat. Expect wind.

If you just want to tour around and see the local beach towns you can ride south on a bike trail to Rehobeth and then ride through Rehobeth past Silver Lake and down to Dewey Beach.

To the west of Newark, DE, is Cecil County, MD. Lot's and lots of great roads with excellent shoulders. You can head west on Rt 273 to Rising Sun. Or, earlier, turn left on 272 toward NorthEast, a little marina town with great crabs/seafood and outdoor cafes. Loop back toward the north on Rt 7, left on 279, left again on 213 to form a loop. Guarantee that it's not flat. Good luck. PG

Also, if you head west from Newark on 273 and [instead] turn right (north) on 272, you'll cross over into PA. The roads are narrow and hilly, but no heavily traveled. You can make your way back east toward Newark again, coming down on 896. That makes a good loop, too.
