Off to SW Utah
Going for a week this Friday. A chance to get a few rides in after a lo-o-ong winter. Planning to mountain bike the trails mostly but may rent a road bike for a day.
We've been once before but if anybody has suggestions for 'must-do' rides - lay 'em on me!

I don't know enough about the place to talk about specific rides, but have done two long weekends in Moab and the hiking / mountain biking is great.
With that scenery just point the road bike towards Canyonlands, Arches or alongside the Colorado and you won't go far wrong. Newspaper Rock State Park is also pretty good for biking.
I'm not envious really!

Southern NV Mountain Bike ASSOC. is biking at Coyote Springs this weekend.

Since you are heading to SW UT you are heading to Gooseberry Mesa. There are skinny tire rides all over. Back roads from Hurricane to Cedar City, Zion's, out to some lakes west of St. George. Great place at a great time. Good call!

For last year's family reunion we stayed in a big rented house just east of Zion and made a day trip to Bryce. I did not bring a bicycle on that trip, but I probably should have. Beautiful area -- as my stepmother says about her home state compared to Arizona: "We're higher and better."

Rent a road bike and ride HWY 128 to Dewey Bridge and back or Do the La Sal loop if the weather moves out and you can ride "The Big Nasty", if you don't like climbing............avoid the loop.

Thanks for all the suggestions. We won't be over in the east at Moab. More in the St George/Zion/Bryce region. We'll definitely be out on Gooseberry Mesa and JEM. Glad to hear about some of the road rides as well. Sounds like I should take my pedals and rent some skinny tires for a couple of days too!
