I like the svelte look of the Vitus but the ride and handling (not to mention the materials) of the Serotta is a noticeable improvement. I hope to be riding the Serotta off into my sunset years

You know I'm partial to the CAAD10 but this one is exceptionally nice. Love the 2014 colors.

This is my newest bike, a State Bicycle Co. fixed gear. My main bike is a 2008 Trek Madone 5.2. I'll be 69 this year and hopefully I will be able to ride my average of 3500 to 4000 kilometers this season.

I've had this 1979 Miyata 912 since it was new and I wasn't old. Here in its latest and really nice riding version. I doubt I will ever get rid of it, unless I give it to my equally tall son. Lately it stays at our winter vacation home on Vashon Island.
I've had this 2003 Rivendell Rambouillet since new, and it was my everyday bike for 10 years, but I think it is destined to be the designated rain and touring bike,
because I recently built up this delightful 1987 Marinoni. I can't imagine anything I'd want different about it, and also can't wait for the weather to clear up so I can get more time on it.

I suggest you try it. What counts is not how well I do. If it's fun and I learn from it, it's worthwhile. I think I could lose spectacularly and have fun at the same time!
And hey, maybe we'll meet on the race circuit. Wouldn't that be a kick?

I've been riding a bike all my life, but I have only been in about four races, and three of them were when I was younger than 25. I learned that road racing is not fun for me. There's too much pain. A friend suggested this year that I try track racing. I suspect that I can endure the pain because the races are short. I may also stand a better chance of doing decently. Road racers over 50 may have a lifetime of experience, so they might humiliate me. The differences on the track might not be so great. I'll find out soon, I guess.

A pic of my ride (Specialized Secteur Elite) today on the West Orange Trail - A "Rails to Trails" multi-use path project in west Orange County, FL. The bridge is a former railroad crossing over the Florida Turnpike.
