Everybody was getting their picture taken with him so I thought I'd do the same. Riders sure look at lot different without their gear on.........

I'd be even more impressed if you posed with his wife.

Cool! Looks like Big George is enjoying his retirement. I'd like to check out his bed & breakfast when he opens it.

They held a ride out of there last fall. It was 80 miles with 8000 ft of climbing. It used a lot of the roads and climbs that I train on near Tryon and Saluda, NC. It is a really nice and popular area for riding. You can select any type of road you'd like to do in terms of grades and steepness of climbs. It will be interesting to see how well the B&B does. It's definitely not near anything........which I guess is good for folks on road bikes!!

Well, the hat gives it away.

I've always like George, both for his talent and his contributions to the sport. I have some things from of his line of apparel--it's good stuff.

I've sined up for the NJ gran fondo, and he is scheduled to be there. Im guessing that if I do see him at all, it will be just a blur as he goes by.
In the whole LA BS, I was most disappointed about George.

Cool. He's among my favorite US riders. What was the occasion?

Edit: I just read Bennie's link so I'm guessing that was it.
