Glad that you found a solution Rev, throat and swallowing problems are what led me to a specialist last summer, and the eventual diagnosis of Parkinson's Disease. I've read several articles about EIA recently, and there was some discussion about it here, too. Thankful I haven't had the pleasure of dealing with it, too.

Breathe In through your nose and out through your mouth.
The air passing over your throat on the way out will be a bit warmer.....

Sorry I couldn't help myself

I have a friend with that ... it's especially an issue in chillier weather.

I typically only get a tickle in my throat when I suck in an insect.

Sometimes a hard ride in cool weather can irritate my throat and leave me coughing or with a sore throat for a few days. It passes.
