Ran a leg of a relay in our marathon today . . .
Ran the first 6.2 / 10k leg of the Louisville Marathon on our companies relay team today.
The longest run previously was to chase our cat out of the living room.
I haven't run 10k since 1984. Still. Made it in 1:11. Im pretty sore, for sure. I can attribute
not getting carried off the course on a stretcher to the fact that I ride a single speed in hilly
terrain every day. Running makes bike riding seem like riding in a limo. I would recommend it
to anyone who wants a fresh perspective on their riding. A bike will never look so good
Now, off to bed for some recovery and bad TV

I've run in a few marathon relays. I was both surprised and flattered when three of the faster runners in our running club asked me to join their team. As it turned out it there was a class for teams whose combined ages exceeded 160. It wasn't my running times they were interested in, it was my life time they wanted.
Our relay was always run in the dead of winter in St Louis. I had to run a 3+ mile lap, rest for about an hour, and then run another. The second lap was always HARD because there was no way to keep warm and loose during the waiting period.
