I'm loving this!

I started this morning out riding a 40 mile breakfast ride with three other 'Like minded cyclists'. Riding back from breakfast we encountered a major event on the canal. High School teams were racing and the canal in the vicinity of Pittsford was jam packed with these racing teams, and of course throngs of spectators along the shore.

Then I struck out on my own and almost rode past this little critter without even noticing him...

Eventually we tired of staring at each other and I swung down along the river and guess whose eggs have hatched?

I then rode down to the beach and enjoyed the music and smells of a competitive barbeque with entrants from all over the Northeast.

By the time I cruised along the lakeshore for a spell and returned home I had racked up 72 miles for the day. This satisfies the "Ride my Age" requirement for the year as I am approaching birthday number 62 in about three weeks!

What a great way to spend a day!

Did you sample any of the bbq"s output and if so did it meet the requirements of a mid-ride refueling?

On the return leg a recent ride, a big bunch of us rode past a yard from which emanated the the distinct and pleasing aroma of BBQ. As it was toward the end of the ride and we were starving, we briefly considered a home invasion!

Awesome pics. The fawn and the ducklings (goslings, swanlings?) are sweet.
I'll have to start packing a camera with me (don't have a cell phone)
I'm not a head down, heart racing, mile counter. More of a poke along and enjoy the sights kinda guy

We are now into crew as my daughter took it up this spring along with all her other activities. Hours spent standing around watching the boats go up and down the river. Looks like you had a great day. Been very wet over on my side of the state - hope to get out today.

I'm surprised to see a fawn that young this time of year. The ones that I'm seeing now look older and bigger.

Wish I had time on my rides to take pics but they are as fast as possible you're out for a ride not sightseeing type of thing.

Yeah, what he said. We were scraping frost off our car windows last week! It seems like Spring generally shows up a day or so before Summer around here.

Beautiful, quality photography Lenny, as usual:thumb:, I always enjoy your reports and pictures of your rides. The swan family is a neat montage, back to your shot of the nest and eggs, quite a time line. it will be interesting to see the family as the little ones mature.
