Checked the weather forecast for next week and it looks pretty darn acceptable in the area we'll be in. Highs in the 70's/80's with lows in the mid 50's. Winds shouldn't be too big of an issue and so far a nice clear forecast.

I've let the weight creep up a little since June but I'm still below what I was a couple years ago when I was riding pretty well. This year's route is 505 miles and looks fairly flat....at least compared to other tours I've done in Colorado. There are two days we'll just do loops from the campsite so I guess that makes packing up a little easier.

My bike has been shipped (supposed to arrive on Friday) and my bag is packed and all ready to go. I wasn't planning on even taking any long pants but my wife says I have to take one pair of jeans......she hears about me being cold all the time since losing 60 lbs.

Travel is not the best coming from NC with a short layover in Denver on the way out and another one in Houston on the return. Unfortunately I have get a couple nights hotel rooms in Portland--Friday night and Saturday night of next week----just due to the length of travel. What the heck. Just more time to find some local breweries and enjoy the Oregon experience.

Looking forward to riding some new roads in a State I haven't ridden before and meeting others who enjoy the same.

OMG ... I wish! I love Cycle Oregon.

I did CO II, II, IX and X ... and nothing since. I miss the small towns and all my friends up there. About the only thing I don't miss is the line for the kybos.

CO II was the best. Back then, they didn't cater the meals ... they left it up to the little towns we rolled through to feed us, and they outdid each other.

*Sigh*

Eastern Oregon, eh? Near where I grew up. I dipped over there for a mile or two last August when I was home in SW Idaho. Lots of near-desert, sagebrush, hot and windy stuff. Much of it is very pretty, but a lot of it is very... brown
